With the Range disabler you have to mail it in and if you aren't the original owner they want $100 to flash it which is ridiculous. I tried a Range disabler on our 2016 Silverado 5.3L V8 and I ended up removing it. While it did prevent going into V4 mode I noticed that the engine burned oil when the Range disabler was installed.

Decided to go ahead and put a reman engine with Gen III lifters, camshaft etc, so it's DOD deleted, along with ECM programming the DOD/AFM delete by AMS racing. The engine seems to run and sound perfectly- but one BIG problem.
