I replaced the laser deck (laser, stepper motor, disc motor) and it read ps3 and ps2 games for about half an hour. Then it would only read ps2 games. I took it apart again and swapped the new laser into the old deck because I read something about the height screws on the deck being adjusted from ..., 14. after you have downgraded to 3.55 make sure you have enabled toggle QA from rebug. 15. restart the system after enabling qa. 16. after you have restarted the system you can now install 1.02 firmware on it. 17. put 1.02 on your usb stick on PS3/UPDATE and in there rename to PS3UPDAT.PUP and then plug it in your ps3.
