It usually takes me 3 months to secure a piece that I consider at my level. I usually have one piece that is a stretch above that - taking 4 or 5 months and I'm always working on a couple of easier pieces that I can learn in a few weeks. I don't think I've ever been able to sightread a new piece hands together.
