Mar 3, 2023 · SimpleMan1958. For what its worth, here's my experience with 8N and an eletronic ignition. Bought my '48 8N couple years back. Came with 12-volt battery, but nothing else 12 v. Kept burning points 2x year. Put in new plugs, wires (carb and 12-volt starter, radiator, hoses), and 12-volt front coil. Solved problem.
