Keep wanting a classic D-104 lollipop mic with a Tug-9 base with second switch for true desktop type use vs squeeze activation. Was wondering the differences or compatibility with the old crystal Dynamic style element or newer Electret element when used on 2 different type rigs and if I would want powered or non powered?, the way I do my d104 mics is put the radio control about 12 or 1 o'clock. then start to turn the mic amp up slowly. I never have my D104 mics over about 1/4 way open. after the audio gets about right you can then finish with the radio control to fine tune it. but make sure if it is a 5 pin that you have the mic ground wires in the proper ..., That one looks very similar to the old Johnson crystal elements. I had some old hand mics, and tried them in my D104. Unfortunately, the units I had were dead. Boo! I have been told they sound great, though. The kit looks nice. I have a Heil HC-5 around here somewhere that I used in a dead head D104, and it worked really well., What you have is a TUG-9 D104. Uses a 5 wire plus shield cord. TUG-8 D104 uses a 4 wire cord with the switch you're talking about.
